It’s 1598 and the Spaniards are losing their first battle in the Americas: the war against the Mapuche tribe in the south of Chilean Patagonia. Every Spanish city has been destroyed, except for one: Santa Maria de la Magdalena de la Villa Rica.

For three years, more than 500 Spaniards where held hostage by the Mapuche tribe in their own town - having to face their worst fears and betrayal at every turn. This is the dramatic story of those men and women and what life was really like when Besieged.
